Woodland Park Zoo

Yesterday we took Zoe for her first trip to the Woodland Park Zoo. Steve will post some pics shortly. We have just got our Mac back out of the shop.

There was a butterfly exhibit where you walk through and they fly around but because it was overcast they weren’t moving much. And there was an exhibit where you can feed birds (budgies, small parrots, cockateils and the like) . They give you a popsicle stick with bird seed on it then you just go in and hope the birds are still hungry. Zoe go† to see a budgie up close and seemed to like all the colourful birds.

She trys to talk a lot more and spends much of her time chatting to me or Steve or the cat. She will also chat to the tv or her toys. We have put her in her exersaucer for short periods of time. Her feet don’t touch the floor but she likes the toys.

Zoe rolled

Yesterday Zoe rolled from her stomach to her back. She has not done it again but it was very exciting. She is napping better and still very well tempered. And of course we think she gets cuter every day.

And for those of you waiting patiently for pictures from our trip up to Vancouver you will have to wait a little longer. Our Mac has a problem and until it gets fixed we cannot upload the pictures because they are only accesible on that computer. Steve is going to order a replacement part then we have to take it to the Mac store to have it installed. Hopefully it won’t be too long.

Steve started back at work full time this week. It makes the weekend seem so much shorter. He does try to be home by 6 so he can spend lots of time with Zoe and so I can get some me time.

Zoe's first trip to Canada

Well we have just arrived home from a whirlwind trip to Canada. On Saturday Zoe went to support Leanne at the Relay for Life in Coquitlam, then went to a BBQ in North Van. Jose Sr. & Jr. and Pillar put on a great BBQ. Zoe enjoyed watching Amilie and Jose Jr. play. When we got back to our hotel she was so tired she slept for 8 hours.

Sunday Zoe had her first visit to Metrotown. She didn’t find anything she wanted to buy. Later that day we went to a BBQ at Shelley’s. Zoe visited with several of her cousins Aunts, Uncles, Grandma, Grandpa and Great Grandma. Exhausted from all the excitement she again slept for 8 hours.

Monday we took Zoe to Stanley Park with Nana. She like the aquarium and saw lots of ducks, geese, and even a very friendly butterfly. She also liked her first trip on the minature train. Later that day she met her Uncle Norbert and cousins Aiden and Kaiya for the first time. It was a short visit because she was tired and Aiden was a little cranky. Kaiya just wanted to climb over Zoe to get to her favourite toy elephant. For dinner we went to her Daddy’s favourite resturant Me’N’Eds. Ted, Tam, Heather, & Rachel met us there. Then we strolled around Metrotown again for awhile. That night she slept for 9 1/2 hours.

Tuesday Zoe met Josie when Mommy and Daddy went and got their hair done in Yaletown. Then she went to GAIA a store that sells ultimate frisbee gear. Then she napped on the long drive home.

Zoe enjoyed her trip and we have a lot of pics that we will post as soon as we get the chance. We took 389 so they won’t all be put up on the web. The fun of digital cameras. For now we are all going to take some quiet time to recover from all the excitement of the trip.

We are coming

We are going to be bringing Zoe up for her first visit to Canada this weekend. I am sure we will post lots of pictures when we get home. She will be going to 2 BBQ’s having family photos done and meeting her future hairdresser. It will be an action packed weekend. Hopefully she will be up to it and not too cranky. Today is the first day she has gone down for naps in her crib and it is great because it gives me time to eat or tidy up without having to worry about waking her or having to hold her while she sleeps.

Zoe stayed home with her daddy for 6 hours yesterday while her mom went to a mommie’s night out. She lost track of time and only headed home when dad called her at 10:45pm. Zoe and her dad had a great evening together and mom came home just in time to put her to bed for the night.
