Steve is back

Well Steve arrived home Saturday. Zoe was happy to see him when we went to the airport and ran up to him. He came home with lots of pics. There are pics of a few of the potential places we could live. He also has some pics of the night market and I will get him to post them and give you a description. There is a lot of food there all of which is served on a stick. It is a very interesting place. If you come visit we will take you there and you can pick your favourite stick food. He also has some pics of Edniburgh where he went for a conference. He did manage to fit in a day to visit with his friend Ashley and they climbed up Aurthers Seat. A really big hill with great views of the city. We didn’t climb it on our honeymoon because I am not much of a hiker. I will try to get him to post them soon and to put a blog up but he is a little tired and has to go back to work tomorrow.

Just a quick note

We are home from Vancouver now. Zoe enjoyed visiting everyone and had funny with Aunty Shelley, Uncle, Jay and her cousins when she slept over. We went to Stanley Park and I ran into a friend I haven’t seen for years. He daughter who was a small baby last time I saw her is now an adorable little girl. Zoe didn’t get to ride the train because it wasn’t running but we did go on the train that runs at Metrotown mall later in the day. She didn’t nap a lot on the trip and she is now asleep. Hopefully she will get back into some kind of routine.

Zoe's first Pony Ride

Today Zoe went for her first pony ride. She rode a Shetland pony named chocolate chip. She only stayed on for have a turn around the ring then wanted off but did seem to like it. I didn’t get any pictures because Steve has the camera in China. After we went to a yard sale so I could see what people price things at and found a barbie tricycle for only $5 so I bought it for her. She can’t quiet reach the peddals yet but liked being pushed on it now we just have to get her a helmet. I know that Steve is not going to be thrilled with my purchase but it was only $5 and she really loved it. We also went to the grand opening of a new Bartells Drug Store just down the road and won a teddy bear for her.

Tennative Move date

Well we have a tennative move date. It will be somewhere around the second week of August. Steve is attending a conference in Seattle in August so we will move when that is over. We are hoping the house will be sold and everything packed and ready to go by the end of July. We will stay in temp housing somewhere for a couple weeks then move. We are going to try and visit as much as we can before we leave. So far we haven’t had much intrest in the house. Things seem to be a little slow in the market and there are now several houses for sale in our complex. We are the only one with this floor plan as the other one sold a week ago. A couple of people at the open house liked the house but wanted a bigger yard for their kids. Not much we can do about that. The yard is landscaped now and has plants though so it looks pretty nice. The fact that we are leaving all the appliances including our BBQ and deep freezer should help a little.

just a quick note

Well we had our second open house today. There were 3 people who came just as I got home the realtor was still here so we let them through. There were 5 others that came through today. Only one was a neighbour unlike last week when it was almost all our neighbours. Hopefully someone will want to make an offer soon so we can be done with the open houses. Well gotta go Zoe is having a meltdown at my knee and smells really bad.

Update on Zoe

Well we went to the Dr today and Zoe has a mild ear infection. They are not going to give her anything for it unless it gets worse or she gets a fever. She goes back in 2 to 3 weeks for a follow up. This means that I will have a clingy and winey baby while Steve is away in China and Scotland. It also means that unless she starts to feel better we are not likely to venture up to Canada on our own. Hopefully she will be good for daycare the few days I have her scheduled in while Steve is away. She is a little on the light side as far as weight goes but the dr. is not too concerned about that. I am sure Steve will post from China so be sure to check for his blogs.
