Day 1 — Getting Started

Today was official day 1 of my new health adventure. I started the diet today and start works with my personal trainer on Monday.

Week 1 of the diet is limited to protein shakes with 1/2 cup of berries 3 x per day and two 6 ounce servings of protein. I had grilled ham for dinner and turkey kelbasa for lunch.

The diet will include a lot of protein shakes and I guess after the 18 weeks I will want to keep on juice and shakes so I bought a NutriBullet today. Saw it at Costco for $129 but got one delivered same day from Amazon $69.

Made my first berry/protein shake in it tonight and it was velvety smooth. So pretty impressed so far.

I recently bought an electric bike hoping to ride to work on nice days starting in the spring and go for more rides with the girls. I ended up getting a Trek Verve+. I’ve ridden around the neighborhood a bit but used some spare time today to try out the ride to work. We recently moved from Bellevue to Redmond so the ride is a lot more convenient now. It took about 50 minutes to get there and about 45 minutes to get back.

Chris and the girls are in Palm Desert this weekend for Zoe’s horseback training. So it’s a good week for me to get started on the new diet.

So far, so good. I’m a big evening snacker so I think that will be the hardest part.
